My Favorite Mobile, Alabama Coffee Shops

My Favorite Mobile, Alabama Coffee Shops

Welcome back to the blog, y’all! I hope you’re ready to be energized.

I’ve been living on the Gulf Coast for going on two years. Mobile, to be exact! A city with loads of old charm and loads of new, exciting things. I love it here!

What I love even more is the plethora of coffee shops. I didn’t think there would be so many, but Mobile’s coffee scene is top tier…hence this blog post.

I wouldn’t dare rank them all and I haven’t been to every single one, but I’ve been to enough that it’s time to put them all in a blog post at least.

So, if you’re ready to get your caffeine fix, keep reading!

Nova Espresso (Address: 306 St Anthony St, Mobile, AL 36603)

Even though it’s hard to rank all the coffee shops in Mobile, Nova Espresso absolutely comes in at number one. Nestled in downtown Mobile, it almost seems out of place in the city. Both the interior and exterior resembles coffee shops in downtown Atlanta, or another highly metropolitan place.

The business makes it work…and thrives too! Free wifi, tacos and trivia nights await you if you’re local, or planning to spend a bit of time in Mobile.

Prices range between $2-$6 for most coffee drinks, not including flavoring, alternative milks, or espresso shots.

This coffee shop was one of the first places I visited when I moved to Mobile and haven’t regretted it since!

Carpe Diem Coffee & Tea Company (Address: 4072 Old Shell Rd, Mobile, AL 36608)

Carpe Diem is located right across the street from Spring Hill College, a private school in the area. Parking is tricky, especially during peak times at the shop, but highly worth it!

Carpe Diem, like many shops in Mobile, has way more than coffee. The location sells breakfast and lunch, along with smoothies, frozen drinks and more.

With indoor and outdoor seating, plus art for sale on the walls, you can’t go wrong with this cozy spot!

Drinks here will range between $2 and $5, depending upon modifications.

Knucklebones Elixir Co. (Address: 202 Government St, Mobile, AL 36602)

A newer entry to the Mobile coffee scene is Knucklebones Elixir Co. Also downtown like Nova, this place serves coffee and cocktails in a dark, moody and almost futuristic place. The most surprising thing about this place is that right across from it is a whole barber shop!

Yes, you heard me right.

That side, called Beard & Blade, is home to people giving haircuts, straight razor shaves and more.

No matter which side you go on (hopefully the coffee side since post IS about coffee), you’ll enjoy it!

Prices here for drinks ranges between $3 and $7, not counting extra espresso shots or alternative milk choices. A bit pricier, but well worth it to experience the décor inside.

Satori Coffee House (Address: 5460 Old Shell Rd Mobile, AL 36608)

Oh Satori…

Really, this place is more like visiting your cool art teacher’s home for lunch. It’s probably the smallest place on my list, but the most unique.

There’s coffee and smoothies on the menu, along with a FULL bar and pizza! Any place where I can get a cold brew, pizza and a rum and Coke at the same time is a great place to go in my book.

As far as seating, there’s a cozy covered patio, couches and your typical tables.

Drinks start at $2, while food starts at $3.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans (Address: 3950 Airport Blvd, Mobile, AL 36608)

Last but not least is PJ’s Coffee, particularly the Airport Boulevard location. It was previously a Dippin’ Dots store before being re-built into a PJ’s Coffee.

The coffee chain is from New Orleans, but has many locations across the Gulf Coast. I partiuclarly like this location because the employees are always nice and friendly and I rarely have to wait more than five minutes for my order, even if it’s busy inside.

Getting their made-to-order beignets are a must whether you eat inside or take your order to go!

Prices for items here start at $2!

Like I mentioned above, this is definitely a incomplete list. There’s plenty of coffee shops that I did not mention here for many reasons. I didn’t even get into the coffee shops that are in neighboring Mobile cities like Fairhope, Daphne and Spanish Fort. Y’all will have to let me know in the comments whether or not you want to hear all about those…

Until next time,
